Ghana ranked third most peaceful country in Africa - Peace Index

Ghana has been ranked as the third most peaceful African country and the 43rd most peaceful country in the world by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP). This was contained in the 14th edition of the Global Peace Index (GPI), which ranks 163 independent states and territories according to their level of peacefulness.Ghana has been ranked as the third most peaceful African country and the 43rd most peaceful country in the world by the Institute for Economics and Peace (IEP). Ghana moved up one place from the 2019 GPI and is now behind only Mauritius (1st) and Botswana (2nd) in sub-Saharan Africa. Meanwhile, South Sudan remains the least peaceful country in sub-Saharan Africa. Ghana's rise on the rankings was despite Sub-Saharan Africa recording a slight fall in peacefulness on the 2020 GPI, with an overall score deterioration of 0.5 per cent. UGSRC EC TO HOLD ELECTION ONLINE

On Friday, June 12,2020, the University of Ghana Students' Representative Council's General Assembly approved the Electoral Commission Constitutional Instrument(C.I ). Persuant to article 31,clause 4 and article 38 clause 1 of the Constitution of the Students Representative Council of the University of Ghana,the Constitutional Instrument of the Electoral Commission shall be the legal document for the purposes of regulating, governing and conducting the business of the 2020 SRC elections in the second semester for the 2020/2021 academic year. According to the Electoral Commission's electionary Calendar for this semester, Voting is to be held online on Wednesday, July 01,2020 due to the Covid-19 Pandemic.
