Akuafo Hall JCR President appointed as Acting SRC President; SRC elections to be held early next semester.



The Executive Committee(EXECOM) of the University of Ghana Students' Representative Council(SRC) has on Monday, June 29, 2020 appointed Nana Kwame Amo Ntow Fianko, JCR President of the Akuafo Hall, as the Acting SRC President and  Ruby Nkansah , the JCR Secretary for Mensah Sarbah Hall as the  acting SRC General Secretary until elections are held next semester following the reopening of the University.

This was in fulfillment of the constitutional provision of  Article 25 of the SRC constitution that, a JCR President of a hall of residence be appointed to act as Acting SRC President in case of the UGSRC's inability to hold elections until such a time when elections can be reasonably held.

An Acting Treasurer is expected to be appointed by the Executive Committee within the next couple of days.
Together, the three Acting executives are to run the SRC within this period and see to the conduct of elections next semester to elect substantive executives when the University reopens.
